I had heard about visit to Little Rann of Kutch from a friend. He gave me contact number and I decided to go there for 3 days.
It is not far from Ahmedabad. Once when travelling in northern Gujarat I met a group of school children - when I asked they told me that they were from Zinzuwada. And that name remained with me. Surprisingly when we went, I found Zinzuwada was just adjoining this Ran.
We went to this place with friends for 3 nights. We had to make reservation through someone staying in Ahmedabad.
This place had a unique accommodation. Individual rooms made to look like what normally people would use. Each cottage had a small area in front with a Swing. Inside arrangements for 2 people in one cottage was perfect. In continuation at with the back were perfect sanitary area. Flush always worked.
The arrangement of dining was at a distance under a shed along with sitting arrangement. One can relax in this comfortable sofa set.
Our host was a wonderful person. He personally came and met us. From his own house he arranged for Television set for us to watch National Geographic videos. We became good friends. He mentioned he was a medical doctor but didn’t like to take money from poor people in his town.

Both little Rann and great Rann are connected as you see in map. But this place is special. The LRK is an arid desert flat land, with salt marshes in the summers and winters that transform into a wetland in the rains.
The Little Rann of Kutch (LRK) is smaller, and ecologically distinct southern extension, known primarily as the sanctuary for the Indian Wild Ass (Khur),
Both are parts of the larger Rann of Kutch, but differ in size, primary wildlife, and accessible features, with LRK being a hotspot for birding and wild asses, while GRK is famous for its vast salt desert landscape.

Location: Southeast of the Great Rann, extending towards
The Gulf of Kutch, accessible from areas like Dasada.
Key Feature: Home to the unique Wild Ass Sanctuary, making it crucial for the endangered Indian Wild Ass (Khur).
Wildlife: A major birdwatching destination with flamingos, cranes, pelicans, and mammals like blue bulls, blackbuck, and the Wild Ass. LRK is more easily accessible for wildlife tours and birdwatching.
Ecosystem: LRK offers a varied habitat with its Bet islands, supporting different flora and fauna than the pure salt flats of GRK.
