We had gone to Brazil and Argentina for cardiology conference way back in 1993. The journey was very long and tiring.
Reaching Brazil from Vermont to New York and than to Brazil was tiring. The conference was divided between the 2 countries for 3 days at each place.
It was held at Rio de Janeiro, the most visited destination in Brazil by foreign tourists for leisure trips, and second place for business travel.
In my opinion, Rio has one of the most beautiful natural settings of any city in the world. With its sandy beaches, turquoise sea, patches of verdant rainforest and tall granite mountains, it's an incredibly scenic city and definitely one of the highlights of Brazil.
On the first day we were tired and just walked around our hotel.
During our stay we visited - Christ the Redeemer and lastly Copacabana
Corcovado - Christ the Redeemer
Copacabana Beach.
Copacabana Beach is famous for its iconic 4-kilometer curved stretch of golden sand, its lively atmosphere, association with glamour and tradition, and its role as a venue for major events like New Year's Eve and international sports tournaments. The beach's unique, wavy mosaic sidewalk, designed by Roberto Burle Marx, also contributes to its world-renowned status, alongside luxury hotels, bustling cafes, and restaurants that line its famous promenade.
We did not have time to visit
The great Amazon Rainforests are one of the main things Brazil is famous for. It is estimated that about 10 million species across the world live in this rainforest. Here you will see monkeys, parrots, sloths, toucans, turtles, caimans, and other wildlife while on a boat trip in this area.
